CICADA

Director: Sergio Ivan Rebolledo
Genre: Video dance
Duration: 08 minutes 27 seconds
Clicada is an exploration of the human relationship with our shadows. The latent state of escaping and remaining at the same time, the apparent stillness and the internal noise, the unbearable silence and the manifestation of everything we are. All in a contained impulse to flee, or the acceptance of it, which can bring us back to ourselves.
Dance / Improvisation - Fernanda Ruan. Original Music and Video Editing - Felipe Perugachi. Production and Musical Mastering - Armando Romero. Direction and Cinematography - Sergio Iván Rebolledo. Original Idea - Fernanda Ruan, Felipe Perugachi and Sergio Ivan Rebolledo.

How does the pain of loss transit? In which parts of the body is the pain of loss housed? Do they change places over time? Is grief and the physical range of pain different when the loss is due to death or a breakup? In some cases, there is no longer the strength to continue carrying bodies, emotions, responsibilities, corpses, sometimes the chest squeezes, becomes deep, the joints break due to hardness, it is like a harmful implosion. How long does it take to understand that this body will no longer be able to fit in with my hollow areas, (either because of that inevitable death, or because that being, although it breathes, dies from your environment), a hole remains in that place that was once filled by the sensation of that hug... and, we must move forward again.

"Cisne Fusion" is the first chapter of a series of three episodes that make up "BlendingBallet: Mixology of Feminine Archetypes," a stage event that reconfigures and offers a powerful and reflective look at iconic characters from classical ballet and how these influence the creator's current life.
This chapter explores the direct experience that the creator has had throughout her life in dance and how this environment has shaped and "perfected" her from the beginning. The viewer is shown a vulnerable being who goes through a great conflict between the illusions she had since she was a child (such as being a white swan) and the harsh reality she has faced (turning her into a black swan). After going through these opposites, she manages to transcend them and finds her own essence through her voice and a mezcal cocktail that she prepares on stage.

I
ION was born in 2020 as a result of the pandemic as a videographic capture process of nature and the environment. In 2023 it was finished structuring itself as a stage piece accompanied by poetry and bodies moving in real time. ION is an ode to the nature of the environment where we walk, to the active listening of our senses as we walk, recovering the memory of the landscape we inhabit.
